A Little/Big Boy Room

My sweet niece is now the mother of three little boys. All 5 and under! Once she knew she was pregnant with her third boy, she started rearranging and decorating the boys rooms. Her 2 year old was about to get a little/big boy room!

The first order of business was to find furniture.  Her 2 year old’s crib turns into a full size bed, so she planed on moving the crib into the new room .   We found this diamond in the rough on Craig’s List. It was super sturdy.  Pretty? Not so much!

A couple of coats of paint and some new hardware turned this beast into a beauty! Sorry, I swear I had better pictures, but for the life of me I cannot find them! Grrr….

My niece chose a dinosaur theme for the room. So cute! Hobby Lobby has all sorts of cute dino themed decorations at a great price.

She chose several wall hangings, dinosaur figurines and a cute sign.

Once we loaded all of that into the room we called a halt to the decorating.

It was time for baby #3!

Fast forward a few months.

Now that the new baby and the family have settled into a routine it was time to tie up a few loose ends.

I had The Hubs cut out these cute dinosaur feet. The hubs calls them “creepy feet”!

Over the weekend we hung the dino feet over the dresser/changing table.

I love command strips!

While we were hanging the feet, my niece mentioned that she needed a nightstand as they were going to be changing the crib into a bed soon.

I told her I had the perfect piece!

I found this old “ice box” end table at a garage sale last month. I had no idea what I was going to do with it.

It had seen better days, but it was still super sturdy. The lines of the piece were similar to the dresser. Both dresser and end table were golden oak.

It would make a perfect night stand.

All it needed was a couple of coats of paint!

I gave the hinges and the pull a quick spray of oil rubbed bronze so that it would match the pulls on the dresser.

While, we are certainly not finished, I think we are well on our way to making a little/big boy room super cute!

My niece wants to put up new curtains, add some toy bins, and maybe a lamp.

I can’t wait to show you the room when it’s finally done!

Until next time….
