I am in love with plaid this year. Have you seen all of the beautiful plaid ribbons, papers, and decorations? If I hadn’t bought my ribbon on sale after Christmas last year, this would definitely be a plaid Christmas here at the castle.
First off, with my injured status, everything I’ve done in the decorating arena this year has had to be simple. I started with a simple plaid table scarf runner.
Next came Santa driving his tree delivery truck.
I kept the Merry Christmas chargers and Christmas plates from last year.
My new addition to the place setting is the napkins. I love these napkins. I mean I really, really, love them. What’s not to love? The red and the green tassels are so cute! Thank you Home Goods.
A red ribbon with white trim serves as a cute and inexpensive napkin ring.
My place cards are trees. So easy to make. All it takes is a few miniature trees. Paper cut into strips and stamped with Christmas words, attached to the tree with a glue dot. It’s just that simple.
Later, instead of Christmas words, I’ll put my guests names on the strips of paper.
I went old school on the pinecones. Spray painted and rolled them in gold glitter. Okay, I may be channeling my inner grade school self, but I still love the simple crafts. I also like how they sparkle.
My plaid Christmas is fun, whimsical, glitzy, rustic and classic all rolled up into one. Simple, yet quirky.
I’d say it’s a lot like me! Here’s to a Plaid Christmas in the dining room!
