Art In The Guest Bedroom

Happy Fri-yay!  This is the fourth installment of One Room At A Time. My friend Terrie from Decorate With Tip And More and I are giving our guest bedrooms a little – or in Terrie’s case a lot – makeover. Today we are both working on art in the guest bedroom!

I looked everywhere for new art, but finally settled on botanical prints that I already had.

Just one issue – not enough frames that were all the same color.

So I decided to take the frames – which were different styles and sizes – and make them all the same finish.

Clean and Paint

Step one is clean the frames really well.

Then I used my favorite gold spray paint –  Rust-o-leum gold -to give each frame a few light coats of paint.

While the paint was drying I cleaned the glass.

Artwork

I had some botanical prints, but I needed a few more to create two small gallery walls on each side of the room  above the beds.

Thank goodness there are a ton of sites with free downloadable art!

I printed it out on cardstock and we were ready to roll.

One last tip: This frame once sprayed was a lot golder than the rest.

The solution?

I gave it a light coat of  DecoArt Effect Wax, wiped it off making sure you can see it only in the creased and crevices.

As you can see it looks really good!

So how does  my art in the guest bedroom look?

I love it!

Now please join me in visiting Terrie to see how her stenciled wall looks!
