I’m so bored at the Castle. No painting, no drawing, no gardening, no swimming. I’ve read 6 books this week. I love to read, but this is frustrating! So what does a girl do when she can’t do her normal things?
Why, go shopping of course! I’ve found some really great end of summer deals.
One of the best end of the summer deals that I have found are these navy bamboo chargers. These are not normally my style, but at 70% off, $1.20 each they were a steal. Sometimes it’s good to get out of my comfort zone and look at the possibilities.
Once I got the chargers home, I decided to play around a little to see how the chargers looked with my dishes. So far, so good!
While I was playing with the dishes, I thought that I needed to add some fresh flowers. One of the best things about gardening is that fresh flowers are always just out my back door. I will admit that putting the flower arrangement together took me longer than anticipated, left hand scissors and flower arranging are not for this right handed girl!
A hot pink placemat and napkin really tie the flowers and the place setting together.
I’ve always loved navy and white. Truth be told, I probably always will. I love how clean and sharp they look together. Once you add an accent color to the navy and white, the whole arrangement really comes together!
I love this place setting so much that I think that I may need to have an end of summer brunch for the Queens! It’s just too cute not to share.
If I’m honest, being bored at the castle has forced me to slow down and take it easy for a change. Not something that I’m naturally inclined to do. Maybe this was my sign that I needed to take the time to appreciate slow summer days more. Do a little more back porch sitting, good book reading and sweet tea sipping!
Have a wonderful weekend!
