Christmas Tree Tips

It’s finally time to set up your Christmas tree but before you start setting your tree up let me give you some Christmas tree tips to set it up like a pro.

Set Up The Tree

Step one is setting up your tree.

Make sure to add a tree collar to the base of the tree before setting it up if you are using one.

Once you have it all put together it’s time to fluff.

Next check the lights if pre-lit or if adding lights check them before putting them on the tree.

Pro Tips

  1. Wear long sleeves and cotton gloves to protect arms and hands.
  2. When fluffing the tree work from bottom to top, then from the inside out

Decorate the tree in this order:

Once your tree is fluffed and shaped and you have your lights ready to go it’s time for the fun stuff.

At this point most people like to add garland or bows, however I like to go ahead and add my tree topper.

Nothing worse than knocking off ornaments, bows etc. when putting it on last.

Next is adding garland and bows.

Make sure they are spaced out evenly.

Pro Tip:

After adding your bows and garland, step back and look at your placement to ensure even placement.

Now it’s time for the ornaments.

Be sure that you have the right hangers for your ornaments.

Glass ornament that you don’t want to go anywhere?

Use a rubber hair elastic or wire.

Longer hooks let the ornaments hang away from branches, short once keep them close.

Big or heavy items need to be hung with floral wire or pipe cleaners.

Pro Tips:

  1. I like to start at the top of my tree and work down.
  2. Again step back to ensure that you don’t have any holes or uneven spots.
  3. Get good step ladders,  more than one if you have them to keep you from constantly climbing up and dow and moving the ladders.

Clean up

At this point I like to run a vacuum or sweep around my tree.

Then it’s time to add in a pretty skirt if you aren’t using a tree collar.

I hope that these Christmas tree tips help to make setting up your tree this year easy and more enjoyable.

Until next time…..
