Happy September y’all! I hope that you had a fun Labor Day weekend. We had a fun weekend, however you know I fit in a little time to decorate for early fall in the dining room.
Well, lets be honest. I found time to sprinkle a little early fall here and there all over the castle! Even though it’s hot here in Texas, September definitely signals fall leaves, pumpkins, mums and hopefully cooler temperatures.
Last week I shared the beginnings of an early fall table in the dining room.
I loved it.
Until, I didn’t.
My dining room is navy, blues and hot pink.
The new fall colors in the dining room just didn’t go well with the navy and hot pink.
It drove me crazy.
So, I went back to the drawing board.
This time around, I used navy as my base color.
Then added lot of neutrals, followed by some hot orange and a tiny sliver of hot pink.
I made these orange napkins and stitched them up with hot pink thread.
You really have to look to see it, but I truly believe when you are tying things together that the little things really do matter.
Each orange napkin was placed into the beautiful leather napkin rings that The Hubs made me.
The pumpkin, which I used for a centerpiece, I’ve had a few years.
I still love natural elements mixed in with a little bling.
Truly, it’s one of my favorite looks.
Each pacesetting is the same, yet different.
A woven placemat, orange charger, white plate, followed by a white and navy salad plate.
All the same.
However, each plate has a different small blue and white patterned bowl.
I started doing this years ago when I was building my plate collection.
Today, I have a more complete collection, but still find myself mixing and matching for a little whimsy.
While I have a few pumpkins sprinkled here and there, early fall in the dining room is more about color and texture for me.
This may be one of my very favorite fall tables so far.
Happy early fall, y’all!
Until next time…..
Tammy
