Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! I’m a little last posting today. It’s cold and wet outside. As I write this, I’m sitting by the Christmas tree in my comfy clothes, there is a fire in the fireplace and hot tea at my elbow. What more could a girl ask for?

Normally, three days before Christmas I would be in a mad rush buying last minute gifts, baking, and wrapping presents. You know the drill. Actually, I have to admit that, for the first time in as long as I can remember – which admittedly isn’t all that long – I’m ready for Christmas!

How on earth did I get here? Well, I’ve been really busy!

My Christmas season started off with the Queens party on the  first weekend in December. No better way to kick off my Christmas season!

The second weekend had us at my families Christmas in Oklahoma.  Poor Beep! She wasn’t spoiled at all! I don’t think she will ever learn to walk.

Last weekend we hosted The Hubs family, all 27 of them. The Houston group came down with the flu so we were a few short. We only slept 14 here at the castle, which was a few shy of our record 18!

As you can see, the Marvelous Magnificent Miss Madi brought along her elves, Joy and Globe to visit with the elves here at the castle. Five elves in the house can get a little crazy!

Since Christmas isn’t until Monday, not much is going on this weekend.  I’m shocked. No family, friends or office parties. I have to admit that I’m a little giddy.

All my Christmas presents are wrapped. Food is prepped for Monday. House is clean – for the most part.

The only fly in the ointment is that the dog and cat seem to think going in and out 1000 times in a day is a fun Christmas game. I’m gonna be mopping all day long.

After all is said and done, I’m sitting here on the sofa, warm and toasty in front of the fire, good book waiting to be read and all I can think is “What did I forget?”  What can I say? There is always something!

I’m taking the next week off to just enjoy my family, enjoy each moment, create a few memories and get ready for the new year.  From all of us here at the castle, Merry Christmas!

Until next year….
