Mini Guest Bathroom Makeover

Our house is 14 years old! We bought the house when it was a year old. So we didn’t get to choose the flooring, walls etc. I loved a lot of it, but there were a few things that I have never loved. I have to admit a mini guest bathroom makeover has been in the cards for quite some time.

This is what the bathroom looked like before the makeover. Not bad. But I hated the floor.  I knew it could be so much better!!!

It started with this tile.

Since I had painted  black over the most  horrendous mustard wallpaper when we moved in, the black and white tile was perfect!

Yes, I said black.

And it’s still one of my most favorite changes in the house.

Our intent was to just replace the tile.

That’s it!

Okay, I know some of you are laughing right now.

You know me too well!

I fell in love with this tile.

Isn’t she beautiful?

I was a little nervous that it would be too busy for such a small space.

But my BFF Rox encouraged me to take a leap of faith.

And boy am I glad that she did.

I can not tell you how much I love it!

Now here’s where the mini guest bathroom makeover really begins.

The other thing in this room that I hated was the countertop/sink.

Molded marble shell sink.

A sink with cracks in it.

Yuck!

I had seen a Youtube tutorial from Stonecoat Countertops on how to make your own epoxy countertops that looked like marble.

Not only does it look good but it’s super durable too.

I was hooked.

This is the countertop we made.

What do you think?

I promise to share the start to finish project with you soon!

Of course, we had to buy a new sink and faucet!

I decided to go with a simple, clean white vessel sink and a chrome faucet.

I also bought a new shabby chic shower curtain in white.

And replaced the old blue hydrangeas with some pink peonies for a little color.

What does the room look like now?

Like this!

I love the tile so much that I hate to put down the pretty new  rugs.

I was so busy admiring the new stuff that I totally didn’t see where the cat messed up the toilet paper!

Make me wonder what else I’ve missed.

I still have a few things left to do.

Add some accessories and hang art on the walls.

As soon as I have that done, I promise to share.

Until next time….
