It recently occurred to me that I haven’t shared my new rug in the living room with you.
October is next week! I have been slowly pulling out my Halloween decor. During my frantic search for my elusive Halloween fireplace banner, it occurred to me that sharing it with you was now or never thing!
If you have followed along recently, you know that I have been slowly updating the living room. Give it a lighter, brighter feel.
I have add new lamps, rearranged furniture, and edited accessories. My dream board of things to do next was a new rug, finish editing and updating accessories and new bar stools.
My old rug was a taupe shag that I purchased two years ago at HomeGoods and it wasn’t wearing as well as I would have liked it to. I had no idea what kind of rug that I wanted to replace with. My plan was to keep an eye out and I would know it when I saw it.
I spied this rug as I was perusing the Labor Day sales. It seemed perfect. It had the same blue color of the kitchen walls, it was neutral and it had one of my favorite colors. Teal! Plus, it has a traditional feel with a hint of contemporary style.
The only tiny disappointment was that the description said that it had black in it. I’m still looking for the black color. However, I love the rest of the rug enough to overlook the lack of black.
When I unrolled the rug, my first thought was:” OH, NO! It’s so light and I have a black Lab that sheds more hair in one day than I have on my entire head!” I had a feeling that I would be vacuuming every five minutes, but so far that hasn’t been necessary. It actually attracts less dog hair than the shag rug did.
And as you can see, Sadie loves it. A lot. Almost as much as I do.
This is my view from the sofa. For years, I have thought I would paint the TV console and the coffee table. I keep going back and forth on this one. As you can see it feels like a big black hole. On the other hand, I hate to paint good wood. I know you never thought I’d say that!
What do you thinK? Paint or No? Maybe I should just replace?
My New rug in the living room is really pulling my living room together. It so soft and colorful, we couldn’t be happier! Only a few more things and the living room will be done.
I’m thinking that dilemma is for another day. Right now I’m putting out a BOLO for my missing Halloween fire place banner!
Until next time….
