Outdoor Table

I hit the jackpot lately with garage sale finds. One of which was the cutest wicker outdoor table that I know my sister’s bungalow needs!

My sweet friend Laura called me about a garage sale that her school was having and  I couldn’t get off of the phone fast enough to get down there. The school’s last garage sale  was very, very good to me!

I found many cool things including this wicker outdoor table. The minute I saw it I knew my sister needed it!

It’s hard to tell but the table top had seen better days. It had been painted, but never had a protective coat put on it and there were multiple chips out of the surface. You can’t really see it in this pic, but I think someone had tried to paint it white over yellow paint, cuz no one would actually choose that color! I hope. The end result? Very yellowish tan. Not pretty at all!

The wicker was in great shape so all it needed was a couple of coats of white spray paint. Bub-bye sickly yellow paint! The top was made up of rustic slats, which I liked. It just needed a quick paint job. A little sanding to distress the top to give it a rustic shabby chic feel and a really good top coat since it was going to be outside.

This is the end result – a really pretty outdoor table! ( you’re getting a sneak peek of our unfinished outdoor patio!)

There is nothing like clean, fresh white wicker. This cute table is going to look awesome on the bungalows back porch! Now we just need to find a couple of sweet chairs to go with it.

Here’s a close up of the table top. I love how the old table top color shows through the distressing. The bonus of distressing the top is that you don’t notice all of the dents and dings. They look like they are suppose to be there.

This table is so darn cute that I think it would also make an awesome indoor table! Don’t you?

I could seriously see this in a breakfast nook or sunroom. It’s not only cute, but it’s the perfect size!

I have more garage sale finds to share with you soon – I can’t wait to get them done to show you. How about you? Have you found any great finds lately? I would love to see them.

Until next time….
