Putting Lipstick on the Patio

Morning everyone! I hope that you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. We sure did at the Castle.  Fun, family, and food. We even found ourselves putting lipstick on the patio!

Lipstick? Blame my Granny. When anything needed a little sprucing up she would announce that we needed to “slap some lipstick on it”!

This was our patio at the beginning of the weekend. Not bad, but it needed a little lipstick!

Especially the garden shed.

See the dirty spot on the shed wall?

We used to have a sign hanging there.

Until the ants decided to eat it.

Since we removed it, I haven’t figured out what do with it.

Until I went to PoKeeno!

I won the most beautiful hanging baskets.

That needed plants.

So Sunday found The Hubs and I at Leno’s.

It’s a small nursery in Mansfield, TX. If your ever in the area its a must visit.

Good prices, super healthy plants and a great variety.

The Hubs and I quickly filled a cart full of some of the most beautiful plants and hanging baskets.

If you don’t already know it, buying a hanging basket to go in a hanging basket works great!

Especially since these flowering hanging baskets were $15.00! They were huge.

I honestly couldn’t have bought flowers individually and planted them for that price.

Once I got the new hanging baskets up, I realized that the “dirty spot” needed to be painted over or covered up.

Maybe both.

I’m working on a little project that I think will be perfect there.

Hopefully, I will be able to share it soon.

You can barely see it, but there is a beautiful light blue pot under that ginormous plant.

I won it and the white pot at PoKeeno too!

The large Lantana plant was another Leno’s find.

Also a hanging basket.

I just remove the hanger and plop it in the planter!

Another hanging basket.

By this time this sweet plant was ready for some water.

Did I mention that it has been in the upper 90’s here?

So much for spring.

I also planted some moss in between the stones on the patio’s bare spots.

The Hubs hung these solar lights on either side of the doors of the garden shed.

Come to think of it, I won those at PoKeeno too!

And last but not least, we planted a few Impatients.

For some reason this year I’ve been late getting all of my planting done.

Putting lipstick on the patio was fun, but a lot of work.

Now I’m ready to sit back with a glass of tea and just enjoy!

Until next time….
