Refreshing a Glider for the Nursery

My niece and her sweet family have been renovating a house for the past six months. I’m so excited for them! I’ve also been working on a few things for Beeps room, including refreshing a glider for the nursery!

My neighbor was throwing this glider out. I knew it was a diamond in the rough. With a little love, it would be a beauty again!

The first thing I did to this glider was take it apart.

I gave it a light sanding and three coats of spray paint.

When the painting was finished, I loved how fresh and pretty the white was.

After talking with my niece, I knew that she wanted the glider to be white. She also wanted to use the same material that we had used for her bedding.

Reupholstering the glider was way beyond my pay grade.

So we decided to slip cover it instead.

We had a hard time deciding on which of the materials we wanted to make a slip cover out of.

The solution? Use all of them!

To make things a little easier, we thought it would be fun to make the cushions reversible!

The cushions are a soft turquoise with white polka dot on one side.

The other side is white with turquoise trellis pattern.

The arms and buttons of the chair are a turquoise, white and lavender paisley pattern material.

Of course, we had to add a little girly ruffle here and there.

Lavender ribbon, tied in pretty little bows, secures the cushions to the chair.

I think that Miss Beep is going to love her new rocking chair.

Her mom is for sure going to love rocking her in it!

Refreshing a glider for the nursery was so much fun. I can’t wait till  room is ready for all of the fun stuff.

Hopefully, I will be able to share Beep’s nursery with you soon!

Until next time…..
