You all know that I occasionally like to try a craft off of Pinterest. Fab or Fail. Well, let me tell you that this one was so far beyond a fail that I’m calling it the agony of defeat!
It’s Ten on the 10th! Which means ten of my blogger friends and I are sharing ideas with you on the 10th of the month, for under $10.00! Woo Hoo!
Then I saw a beautiful one on Pinterest and thought that I could make one like it for under $10.00.
I did everything the tutorial said.
Following the directions, I separated the hoops, only using one.
Then I attached greenery to the hoop using wire.
I added scraps of ribbon and attached two flowers of my choice.
And this is what I came up with. Hmmm….
I even added a small welcome sign, that I had previously made, in hopes that I would like it more.
Nope, still reminds me of the 80’s.
Was I able to make it for under $10.00? Yes, I was.
Embroider hoop: $2.39
Flowers: $7.99, 50% off. Total cost $4.00
Greenery: $4.99, 50% off. Total cost $2.50
I already had the scraps of ribbon and the wire.
Total cost for the wreath was less than $9.00!
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad. I’m just stuck with the whole 80’s thing. So, for me, this was a fail.
Yep, the Agony of Defeat!
However, I do have a few things that cost less than $10 that I LOVE!
These Petals and Blooms scissors from Hobby Lobby are the cutest!
Three sizes, three different patterns with two different tips.
Cost: $12.99.
Y’all know I have a 40% off coupon! Three super cute scissors for under $10.00. Girl squeal!
I used to hang my wreaths with an over the door hanger. Over time this created a problem with my door closing properly.
Then, I found this magnetic hanger.
Let the heavenly choir sing! Peeps, I am telling you this was a game changer.
This is what it looks like on your door.
I love that I can put it up anywhere on the door, keeping the peep hole uncovered.
Not only is the placement adjustable, it’s also sturdy and will hold a fair amount of weight.
Best of all, I’ve not had one problem with the door closing. The Hubs loves this too!
Now that I’ve shared the fab and the agony of defeat with you, I hope that you will join me in visiting my friends to see their fabulous ideas!
Until next time…
Tammy
