My friends and I at Decorate With Us are decorating our dining rooms for Christmas today. Except, I don’t have a dining room or a dining room table. However, I DO have a breakfast room so that is where I will be decorating today. Since it definitely isn’t a formal room I decided to make mine a whimsical Christmas table. And I couldn’t be happier!
The Chandelier
Let’s start here!
I took an inexpensive green wreath and cut it in half on one side.
This allowed me to place it around the middle of the chandelier.
I simply twisted two of the branches together to secure it.
Next, I hung vintage red ornaments all over the wreath.
Now it’s time to add the whimsy!
I hung this Packed Party oversized confetti ornament from the bottom of the chandelier.
The Centerpiece
This area is where I have so much fun!
I started with this red table runner.
Next I added in some vintage brass candlesticks and placed some twisted red tapers in those.
Then I tucked some felt leaf and berry picks in between them.
On top of those I placed another Packed Party confetti oversized ornament.
These ornaments come in two different styles.
On either end of the arrangement I placed these snow globe ornaments.
These were also found at WalMart, however I couldn’t find a link on-line.
After sprinkling a few gold glitter pinecones here and there, my centerpiece was finished!
The Place Setting
A white linen ruffled placemat with a gold leaf charger is the perfect foundation for my plate stack.
The placemat was on sale at Hob Lob this past spring and I’ve had the chargers since chargers became a thing back in the day!
I’m using my Christmas dishes from WalMart.
They were purchased years ago and Better Home and Gardens made them.
This beautiful red stemmed glassware always makes me happy every time I use it.
Again, I’ve had these for many years.
Next up… napkins!
I love these red, green and white plaid ones.
A gold napkin ring from Hob Lob – again many years old is perfect to tie in with the gold chargers.
TIP: Have broken vintage Christmas earrings or pins? Use them to adorn your napkin rings.
Simply use sticky dots to apply, that way they aren’t permanent!
Place Cards
While totally unnecessary, especially since there are only four of us, I think place cards are fun!
I found these ornament ones many years ago at Michaels.
Just grab a card, fill it out and slid it into the holder.
Love it!
The last thing I added was the gold flatware.
It really ties all of the gold together in this table.
Thanks so much for visiting, now I hope that you will join me in heading on over to my friends to see what their tables look like!
