White Nightstand

The Before and After of a white nightstand!

My sister had a nightstand given to her. Of course, she gave it to me! It’s very sturdy and has great bones. At first glance the finish looks great, but on closer inspection the top had seen better days. There was only one thing to do – paint it!

I painted the nightstand with Annie Sloan White chalk paint. I love chalk paint because there is no sanding involved. Just clean your piece that is to be painted really well and paint.  To make the paint more durable I used  AS clear wax for a protective topcoat.  A little distressing, buffing the wax and some new pulls gave this white nightstand a whole new life!

I found these pulls at Hobby Lobby. If you are looking for something awesome and unusual, Hob Lob is the place to go! I was looking for clear glass pulls, but when I saw these I knew they were just what I was looking for.  They have a mirrored back so they have just a little more bling than plain glass pulls would have.

Each pull has a little different crackle look to it, which I  totally love.

The crackle on the pulls remind me of old, chippy, crackly furniture – except with a much cleaner look!

I couldn’t resist lining the drawers with some fun polk a dot paper.  I love opening a drawer and finding  a happy, fun lining paper! It’s the little things that make me happy.

A really fun bonus feature to this nightstand is the small pull out tray. I love this.  Have a bottle of water or need a little extra space for a book?  You’ve got your handy tray!

This white nightstand is probably one of my favorite pieces. Not only is it pretty, but with three drawers for storage, it’s functional too. Let’s face it, a girl can’t have too much storage!
