Fall Pillows in the Living Room

Happy September peeps! Can you believe it’s already time to start decorating for fall? This week my friends,Terrie from Decorate And More With Tip and Corine from Junk To Gems and I are sharing how we decorate our living rooms for fall. Today we are sharing our Fall pillows in the living room!

Spring / Summer Pillows

This is what my sofa looked like before I started decorating for fall.

Navy blue velvet 20 x 20 pillow.

A chinoiserie multi- colored 18 x 18 pillow and a white with blue spotted 16 x 16 pillow.

All are pillow covers with feather pillow inserts.

It was great for the Spring / Summer season, but it’s time for a few changes now that Fall is here!

But here’s a quick reminder of  my Fall color scheme in my living room.

I want to use a lot of my existing decor and add in pops of this pretty green and add a tiny bit of orange.

 

Fall Pillow Candidates 

So before I share what pillows made the cut, I’d like to share what pillows I considered.

These blue and white houndstooth pillows were so classical and I love this pattern.

However, if I used these I wanted them to be the largest pillow in my sets of 3.

They did not come in the size I wanted.

Y’all know I love chinoiserie and this pillow met my color scheme and matches a lot of my existing decor.

I was all set to push the buy now button when I saw the delivery date.

Yeah… I didn’t really want to wait until Thanksgiving.

I used these cute orange and white pom pillows last year.

Truth be told they were a BIG contender.

BUT, it’s a lot of orange.

I wanted small tiny pops here and there.

This was more than a small tiny pop.

And then I saw this beauty.

I fell in love with the embroidery, the pattern and the size was perfect.

My only decision was whether to go with this limey acid green or with the orange.

Again, I felt the orange might be a bit too much.

So green it was!

I kept searching for a large solid pillow cover and a smaller patterned one to no avail.

This embroidered pumpkin pillow is so darn cute!

However, in person it’s much more muted than the rest of the colors in the room.

I’m still trying to figure out where I could use this one!

Yep, I kept the large navy velvet pillow and the small white with blue dot pillow.

Or at least that’s what I thought I was going to do.

Until…

I added these leather faux leaves into several vignettes in my living room.

Game changer.

I added in these leopard print pillows and knew that it was what was needed to tie all of my fall elements in my living room together!

 

 

To say that I was surprised at the addition to the animal print would be an understatement!

But the more I live with it the cozier it feels and the more I love it.

I do have one other new pillow in my living room.

My new pumpkin pillow!

It has the colors, textures and is definitely fall.
