Little Turquoise Table
This is the story of a little turquoise table that is really beautiful. However, it certainly didn’t start out that way!
Awhile back, a friend of mine gave me this cute little table. It really needed a makeover in a big way!
As you can see, the top was chipped up and had some water damage. I think this table may have been one of three stacking tables at one time.
One of the legs was loose and had been poorly repaired. So it needed a little work before painting.
I had painted this lamp to match the curtains last year, so it just made sense to bring that same turquoise color back into the room by painting the table turquoise.
I gave the little table a couple of coats of Junk Gypsies turquoise paint. It was so cute and matched the curtains in the room, but it seemed a little flat.
A quick coat of white wax gave the little turquoise table the wow factor it needed. Now you can see all of the beautiful detail.
The small pillow on the red chair is also my curtain material. This sweet little chair has been red for a very long time. I keep thinking that I am going to slipcover it, but have never gotten around to it. Low on my to do list. It occurred to me that the reds and turquoise match the curtain material perfectly and tie the room together. I may be leaving the chair red!
The little turquoise table is the perfect size to set out food and drinks when we are playing in the game room. Right now it holds a new lantern I won at Bunko, a magic eight ball, vintage books and toys.
I have plans for the open space beneath the table. I hope to get that project done and share it with you soon!
I’m also debating on whether or not to put a rug in this room. The game room had carpet when we first moved in. The cat immediately set about destroying it. When we decided to put the hardwoods in I couldn’t make up my mind if I wanted to risk putting an area rug under the pool table. I put that decision on the back burner. I’m still on the fence.
This little turquoise table is going to be a workhorse in the game room. It doesn’t hurt that it’s pretty either!
Until next time…
Your table turned out so cute! I love the turquoise color topped off with a little white. The details really pop! Red and turquoise go so well together. The room looks fun!
