October Road Trips Part 2

I’m back home and ready to share the last leg of my October road trips part 2 with you! When I last left you, I was saying good-bye to Round Top, Texas and heading to my home town of El Reno, OK. If you missed part 1, you can see it here.

I had to share one last, not very flattering picture, with you of our Junk Gypsy Pent Up picture! Our sweet “adopted” daughter had the cutest crocheted dress. Can you imagine making that?

Honestly, the last leg was pretty laid back. My sweet seester #2 had a health procedure so I volunteered to take care of her during her convalescence. I’m going to apologize up front for the quality of these pictures. All were taken with my phone and are a little iffy!

I was there ten days! While there, we did get a lot done.

We put out her mums on her bungalow’s front porch.

Did a little Halloween decorating.

Put out her Halloween wreath, signs and pillows on the front porch.

One afternoon I kept hearing a rooster crow. It sounded like it was on the front porch, so I stepped outside to investigate.

Seems Mr. Rooster had escaped from his home and went roaming the neighborhood, chasing all of the children who were out playing back into their homes. I think he was a lot little aggressive.

My sister’s poor neighbors were cowering inside the front door taking pictures of Mr. Rooster. I couldn’t resist taking a few myself.

You just can’t make this stuff up.

Thankfully we got to spend a lot of time with Beep and the rest of the family. Beep is a little shy of 7 weeks and at that really fun age. Sleep, eat, play for ten minutes. Repeat.

I also helped my sister do a few honey do’s around her house.

I painted her front door.

Aren’t I a good sister? Especially since I haven’t painted my own front door yet!

We also hung a few pictures, as well as 2 sconces in the bedroom, preformed surgery on her dining room table, hung new lights in the bathroom and installed a new shower head.

I did make time to hit up the Hobby Lobby outlet. I’ll share more of what I bought there soon.

After a little meeting to work on closing up our Dad’s estate, it was time to give all of the family a hug and a kiss and wave a great big good-bye.

Honestly, I loved my October road trips part 2, but I think I’m ready to stay home for a little while.

Until next time….

  1. You all looked great at the Junk Gypsy Prom. And what a great sister you are! I bet your sister really, really appreciated all your help. Beep is adorable. We have Canada geese on our river property year round, and I ever saw a rooster, I think I would definitely have to invest in a paintball or rifle BB gun. I can only imagine the droppings…..
Being away is fun, but there’s definitely no place like home!

    1. Rita I was shocked about the rooster! You have to love a small town. I’ll bet the Canadian geese are a beautiful sight. You will have to post picture of them some time. You are so right, there is no place like home. Thoroughly enjoying being home.
