DIY Garden Stakes
Happy Tuesday! It’s time for our Creative Craft Hop and this month I’m sharing how to make diy garden stakes with you. Super easy and anyone with any skill level can make them.
BIG shout out to Donna from Modern at Monticello and Sara from Birdz of a Feather for being our fearless leaders. They ROCK and keep us going like a well oiled machine!
If you are hopping over here from Cecilia’s weren’t her tea lights adorable?
Welcome! I am so glad that you are here.
Did you see Donna make cute beaded pens earlier this year?
I did and couldn’t order the supplies to make some for myself.
Recently, I found a similar kit to make garden stakes and knew that I HAD to make some.
Supplies
The kit comes with 8 – 12inch stainless steel rods , 8 decorative finials and 8 hex nuts.
Mine did not come with the beads, however there are a ton of kits where the beads are included.
Step 1
Add the finial to the top of the steel rod.
Step 2
Once you have added the finial it’s time to add beads to the bottom of the rod.
The hardest part of this process is deciding which beads to use.
Once you are finished adding beads, screw on the nut until the nut is tight and keeps the beads from falling off.
The garden stakes turned out super cute, but I couldn’t help think that they would be even better plant markers.
Make Plant Tags
Using a thin sheet of copper, I traced a wooden tag with a stylus to create a plant tag.
I cut the tag out with scissors and punched a hole in one corner with a hole punch.
Using a black Posca marker, I added the name of the herb I wanted to mark.
Two of the corners were rolled up for a little something extra.
Thin gold wire was used to tie the tag to the beaded plant stake.
Place your garden stakes in the Garden
All that is left was to add my DIY Garden stakes to my herb garden.
I love how easy, inexpensive and fun these were to make.
Aren’t they fun and colorful?
I hope that you will join me in visiting Sara to see how she mad her soda can bracelet!
Then when you are done there, be sure and hop over to all of the other participants to see their beautiful crafts!
Until next time…

Such pretty garden stakes and tags. I bet they’re even prettier when the sunlight hits them reflecting colors all around your garden!
They do look pretty when the light hits them for sure.
