It’s hard to believe but Christmas is right around the corner. If you are looking for a an easy last minute Christmas gift or a project for the kids to do this week I’ve got you covered. And when I say it’s easy, I’m not kidding. This project takes minutes to complete and is super cute!
So exactly what is the project? It’s these darling Christmas earrings!
Miniature Christmas light bulbs
Fish hook earring hooks
Hot glue and glue gun
Small pre-tied bows or small red ribbon
Holiday Stamp and stamp pad
When it was time to purchase my mini ornament bulbs these were the ones I wanted.
I had picked them up for my small retro silver tree last year and loved the beautiful colors.
Sadly, I couldn’t find them anywhere.
However, I did find these and they really worked out better than the others.
There were six ornaments to a card.
2 of each color, which meant 3 sets of earrings.
AND each card was only $1.98!
Glue a tiny red bow to the ornament at the top.
Add the earring hook to the mini ornament.
Slightly pry open the ring at the bottom of the earring hook and attach the ornament to the ring.
Close the ring, making sure that there is no space for the ornament to work it’s way off of the ring.
I told you it was easy.
Make a card to hold the earrings.
I cut out a piece of card stock 3″ x 3.5″.
About 1/4″ from the top, I punched two holes using a small hole punch.
To dress my card up a little, I used a Happy Holiday stamp in red placed in the middle of the card.
Then added a strip of Christmas plaid Washi tape across the bottom of the card.
All that’s left to do is to add the earrings to the card and wrap them up!
You can literally make a pair of ornaments with a decorative card in well under 5 minutes!
To say that these earrings were an easy last minute Christmas gift was an understatement.
And they cost under a $1.00 for each pair of earrings!
Buy good sterling silver or hypo-allergenic fish hook earrings.
Even though these are fun earrings and will probably only be worn once or twice a year I wanted to make sure they were safe for whoever I gifted the earrings to.
Be creative with your ornaments.
They make so many pretty miniature ornaments the skys the limit for your creativity!
I hope that if you decide to make a few pair of these that you will enjoy making and gifting them as much as I have.
Until next time…..
