Fall Mantle
I can’t believe that Halloween is over! Before you know it we will be getting our Christmas jingle on! I packed all of the spooky and scary up, left the pumpkins out and started on my Thanksgiving decor. The first place I started? My fall mantle.
After putting away my Halloween decor and giving the mantle a good cleaning, I was left with my mantle basics – a long box and three candlesticks. I’ve tried different things on the mantle, but I always go back to these. The mantle is not very wide so I am limited as to what I can put up there.
I add fall flowers, feathers, pumpkins and “fluff” – you know the sticks, leaves and filler! It looked great in the day time but was pretty dark at night. I would love to light this area at some point, but that’s for another day.
Fairy lights to the rescue! I love these little lights. I don’t use them often because even though they are in clear cording it drives me CRAY CRAY to see it. I only use it if you can’t see it or when I use it like I did today. It’s at a distance so the cording kind of disappears.
Here’s the end result. It gives the floral arrangement just enough light that you can see the arrangement. If you look closely you can see the cording. My mantle is pretty high up so unless you are looking for it you aren’t going to see it. And quite frankly, if you are that close there is no telling what you are gonna find!
The fairy lights from a different angle up close.
I couldn’t resist sharing my fun reading corner with you as it is right next to my fall mantle. It has a little fall color. A super soft throw …and it’s right next to the fireplace. Exactly where you want to be on a cool fall day with a great book!
I love how my fall mantle and my reading area came together – and apparently so does Sadie, my dog. I tried taking several pictures without her and finally just gave up! This area is so warm and inviting may be my new favorite spot in the living room!
Until next time….
Tammy
