Hot Cocoa Reindeer
Happy Creative Craft Hop day! It’s honestly one of my favorite days of the month and I’m making a fun hot cocoa reindeer.
Fun, talented crafters get together and share fun craft ideas, what’s not to love?
Thanks to Sara from Birdz of a Feather and Donna of Modern on Monticello for hosting us every month, they do a ton of work getting us all together!
If you are visiting from Sara’s welcome, I am so happy to have you visit.
Hot Cocoa Reindeer Supplies
I’m making the cutest hot cocoa reindeer that is super easy to make and so cute!
Here’s what you are going to need to make them.
Paint or google eyes
Paint brush
Hot glue
Step 1
Glue your small red pom pom to the lower half of your jar.
Step 2
Using Multi- purpose or glass paint, paint on the reindeer eye lashes.
Don’t paint?
No problem, glue on some googly eyes!
Let dry.
Step 3
I didn’t have 1″ burlap ribbon, but I did have 4″ ribbon.
Cut the ribbon into strips.
Then make loops going back and forth, gluing as you go, until you make a bow with 2 loops on each side.
Using twine, tie the twine tightly around the middle of your bow.
Glue the ribbon on top of the plastic lid.
Step 4
Using the twine, tie on the wooden spoons to the back of the the jar.
( With this particular spoon I had to cut off about an inch to make if fit the jar. Super easy.)
If you have trouble getting your spoon to stand up, place a glue dot or double sided tape to the back of the jar.
Now it’s just a matter of filling your hot cocoa reindeer 3/4 of the way with dry hot cocoa mix.
Add a few mini marshmallows and you have the cutest hot cocoa reindeer!
These would be great as gifts, fun party favors – so many things!
And it’s a great recycle.
Now please join me in hopping over to Terrie’s to see her craft and then when you are done hop on over to the rest of the crafters so that you don’t miss any of the fun..
Until next time….

That is SO adorable Tammy! I have to make these and add them to my hot cocoa bar this year! They’d fit right in 🙂
Thank you Sara. They are so fun to make – kind of addictive and once you make one you just keep going. lol
Tammy, this is just adorable! I’m using Oui jars for my homemade Christmas gifts this year, too, and I really love this idea. It’s so clever to create antlers from the jute ribbon and every detail is darling–pinned! Blessings, Cecilia @ My Thrift Store Addiction
Thank you Cecilia. I love eating the yogurt and the jars are fabulous aren’t they?
What a fun, festive and very creative handcrafted gift idea, Tammy! You always come up with some of the best ideas and this one is no exception! I’ve saved lots of Oui jars throughout the years and your cool craft would be perfect to make and give this holiday and winter season!
Thank you Gail. I have to admit that I had everything to make these in my craft room. Which is good – or maybe I keep too much! lol
These are so cute Tammy! What great little gifts they make!! They’ll look great on a tiered tray too~ adorable!
Thank you Jenna!
What skill to make reindeer eyelashes look so glamorous! I’d have to stick with the Googley eyes. Fantastic gift idea.
Thank you ! The googley eyes are fun too!
Tammy your reindeer is charming, especially with those eyelashes, and such a great gift idea. I also love that you are recycling the glass jar.
Your cocoa reindeers look so sweet ~ pun intended. Those sassy eyelashes and ribbon antlers make the perfect gift presentation!
These are adorable Tammy. I saw in your video the other day how you styled the cute cups and now I know how you made them. Thank you for sharing the tutorial. Happy holidays to you and your family.
