kitchen peninsula decorated for Christmas

Good morning! It’s day 2 of Decorate With Us Christmas 2022. Today I have more kitchen decor for you. Specifically our peninsula where my husband and I eat almost every day. Normally I only have placemats in this area, but thought it might be fun to set it up as if we were having Christmas brunch. AND at the end of the peninsula on the side of the cabinets I have two small shelves that are super fun to decorate.

The Place Setting

I started my place setting with this pretty red and white snowflake placemat!

It’s one of my favorites that I picked up at Walmart last year.

Unfortunately, they don’t have them this year but I did find these that I thought were pretty.

Next I added a red metallic charger.

Followed by my white hobnail plates.

I know I use these all the time, but they go with everything!

For a napkin I chose a white linen pom that goes with everything!

The napkin ring was another Hob Lob find last year.

A small sprig of greenery gives the napkin a festive look!

red flatware

The Flatware

I am using this red enamel handled flatware to match all of the red.

For an inexpensive set of flatware this set is used a lot more often than I would ever have thought.

red mug

Since it’s brunch, I added a generous red speckled mug that is perfect for coffee,  hot tea or cider!

And for a little fun I added a candy cane!

Such an easy, cute and fun way to make just about any breakfast – or brunch – special during the Holiday season.

Shelving decorated for Christmas

The Shelving

At the end of the peninsula, as you enter the kitchen, are a couple of shelves that are placed on the side of the cabinet.

I love decorating them, especially for the holidays.

Salad plates that are part of my holiday dishes are flanked by some sparkly “presents”.

I received those as gifts many years ago from a friend.

The gingerbread men were ornaments that I turned into shelf sitters.

One last little touch that I will be leaving up through the holidays – these easy wreaths placed on the backs of the bar stools.

I love them!
