Painting the Front Door Serene
I finally did it. I ended up painting the front door Serene blue! You all know I’ve been waffling back and forth on the color. Should I just repaint it black?
Or go with something daring like turquoise? Maybe navy? Decisions, decisions!
When we moved into this house 12 years ago the front door was a blah beige.
I absolutely hated it.
It always looked dirty, even when it wasn’t. Plus, beige did nothing for the curb appeal of the house.
After much thought, I painted it black and it’s been that way for most of the 12 years that we have lived here.
I loved it.
Until it started to show wear and tear. You know when you are editing the front door before you post pictures that it’s time to repaint!
Last spring I started the process of what color to paint it. Only problem was I couldn’t decide. I have a weird color of brick, so I had to be careful when choosing a color.
Then I found Modern Masters front door paint.
I fell in love with the color Serene. It’s not navy. Nor is it royal either. It’s just the perfect color of blue for my house.
Not only is it a beautiful color, it’s also fade resistant and dries in one hour. Let the heavenly choir sing!!!
Modern Masters is so easy to use.
I just gave the door a quick, light sand.
Washed it off with a damp towel, then started painting.
Isn’t it pretty?
It took two coats of paint, mainly because I was covering black paint.
Even with using two coats of paint, I still only used 1/4 of the quart of paint.
I love this color with the brick so much that I plan on painting the back door the same color too.
I am so glad that I ended up painting the front door Serene blue!
The only down side?
The white trim around the door now looks a little shabby!
If you give a mouse a cookie….. This girls work is never done.
Until next time…
