Ten on the 10th- It’s Not Just for Men!

Woo Hoo! It’s Ten on the 10th! Where 10 fun and friendly bloggers share ideas for under !10!

I swear I get so excited every time the 10th comes around. Don’t you love  seeing what all these talented ladies come up with? I know that I do too! Today, I’m venturing into the world of beauty.

I’m not what I consider a girly girl. With a few exceptions, I usually find what works and stick with it. One of those exceptions are razors. I’ve tried them all. I’ve hated most of them. Then one day I decided to try my husbands razor. I know. That’s a big no no!  I was in love.  I heard the angels sing. The sunshine was brighter. The birds sang happier.

His razor actually worked. My legs were smoother and stayed that way all day long. No nicks. No cuts.

The Hubs is a member of the Dollar shave club. A member pays $8.00 a month.

Your first kit comes with a handle and a four pack of razors. Each month there after, you are auto shipped a four pack of razors and a Bathroom Minutes booklet. I don’t personally read the booklet, but my husband finds it entertaining!

If you are paying attention, I still have two dollars left to spend. Avon’s Skin So Soft Silky shave gel is the bomb and goes perfectly with my Dollar Shave Club razor.

My seester gifted me a few tubes of the shave gel about seven years ago and I was hooked ever since.  Normally, the shaving gel is $4.00. However, the shaving gel usually goes on sale once or twice a year. For under $2.00.  When it goes on sale, I stock up.

I do have a couple of disclaimers of sorts.  I have oily/ normal skin. My friend Roxanne has super dry skin. I love it, she doesn’t. Also, if you are like me and are thinking that since it is a Skin So Soft product that it might keep the skeeters away. Sadly, I have not experienced any luck in that area.

So there you have it my beauties! Two beauty products that each cost under $10.00. It’s another Ten on the 10th in the bag!

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. My husband and I have had so many conversations about the Dollar Shave club. We need to just go ahead and pull the trigger on this and join.

    Have a great weekend.

    1. Lisa,
We love it. I think we have been doing it now for about two years… definitely cheaper than buying razors locally.

  2. I’ve never heard of he Dollar Shave Club, feel like I’ve been living under a rock. I get all my home and body products from a health and wellness company. Neat idea thanks for sharing.

    1. Carole,
Don’t feel bad it took me awhile to find this company too! It does save us quite a bit on razors though!

  3. I use my husband’s razor too! Works like a charm and so much better than the women’s razors. My brother does the shave club and loves it. That’s definitely a savings. 😉

Do you have more beauty tips?

  4. My husband and boys use the Dollar Shave club and have for a few years now. They love it! I’m not really sure why, but I haven’t given it a try myself. Thanks for reviewing it from a girl’s perspective. I may just sign up too now!

    1. I hope that you like it as much as I do! I hate spending a ton of money on razors.. especially when they don’t work.

  5. My daughter gifted my husband the dollar shave club and he hasn’t been so crazy about it but I’m going to check it out. I hate spending money on razors!

    1. Shelly,
Good luck on trying the razors. I am so with you on spending a ton of money on razors… so many other things to spend my money on!
