Thanksgiving Table

Fall flowers

Let’s talk Thanksgivng. Specifically a Thanksgiving table. I’m not hosting my families Thanksgiving this year, however I still like to set up a casual table just for the season.

Normally I would  dust off the good china, iron the tablecloth, make sure the silverware and crystal sparkled and make cute placards.

This year, since we will be celebrating at my sister’s house, I decided to go ahead and set an unusual Thanksgiving table.

Nothing elaborate.

Just pretty and fun.

Thanksgiving placesetting

The Placesetting

I started off with a woven dark green placemat, followed by a gold charger.

I love pretty plates all stacked together!

The blue chinoiserie dinner plate is from Royal Stafford.

Next, a lettuce design  salad plate from Bordallo Pinneiro.

The dessert plate is Spode Italian.

The stack is finished off with an appetizer plate from Potter’s Studio.

Fall Table

Clearly it’s an eclectic combo, but I love all of the textures and color.

Tucked between the dinner and the salad plates is a blue and white buffalo check napkin.

I skipped a napkin ring and went for a more casual presentation.

Fall Table

Cobalt blue goblets  finish off the placesetting!

These are perfect for water, tea or wine.

Fall flowers

The Centerpiece

I skipped the white tablecloth and added a white cotton runner with blue detailing.

Fresh fall flowers were put together and then added to a natural basket for a casual centerpiece.

Don’t you just love fresh flowers?

I know I do and I don’t do it often enough.

Thanksgiving placesetting

On either side of the flowers I added a bamboo candle holder and candle.

Felt fall leaves are sprinkled here and there and make the perfect coaster for drinks.

Thanksgiving cutting board

Extras!

One one end of the table sports a Give Thanks cutting board with a few fun utensils for serving dishes.

The cutting board makes a perfect place to sit hot dishes or rolls.

It doesn’t hurt that it’s super cute either.

If you look closely at the placesetting, you will see a tiny serving knife.

I added these in just for fun.

Each one says something different.

Cute sayings like “Let the stuffing begin” and “Get Your Fat Pants On!”.

Fall Table

Like I said earlier, this isn’t your usual Thanksgiving table, but it sure is perfect for a casual dinner during the Thanksgiving season.

I’m curious.

Do you go all out on your table for Thanksgiving?

Or are you more casual?

I think I like the idea of both, so I probably fall somewhere in between.

Until next time….

  1. Absolutely fabulous. Definitely our family’s style. We’re not into stuffy formal but we are into the important business of stuffing 😂
