Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Bedroom Furniture Makeover

Happy Friday! My sweet friend, Miss K, recently decided that she was ready to shed her little girl room for a room worthy of a teen.  As we all know, one of the best ways to makeover a room is with paint.  However, Miss K has just moved and is living in a rental home.  So no paint on the walls!  The next best thing? Give her bedroom  furniture a makeover with Annie Sloan Chalk paint.

Earlier in the week, I showed you how to make great drawer pulls for painted furniture.  Here is the bedroom furniture set we started with.  A really sweet, white washed pine dresser.  Great for a little girl’s room, but for a teen?  Uh, NO!   First thing we did was give it two coats of Annie Sloan chalk paint in Pure White.

We then slightly distressed it and then gave it two coats of Annie Sloan clear wax, followed by dark wax only where we had dressed it.  This gave it an old used look.  The beauty about Annie Sloan chalk paint is that it is perfect for a teen furniture makeover!  If it gets any dents, dings, abuse or wear it will still look like it was meant to be that way!  And with teens we all know that the furniture is going to get some wear and tear!

I loved this Annie Sloan chalk painted bedroom furniture makeover – and so did Miss K!

Until next time…..
