Cleaning Kitchen Cabinets

Spring Clean with us

Hey y’all! Welcome to Spring Clean With Us! Today I’m cleaning kitchen cabinets. Now don’t get too excited – this isn’t rocket science. And you will probably roll your eyes because this is sooooo easy.

But I got to thinking that maybe some of you might not know how great my favorite product for this works.

Or that a soft toothbrush works great to clean crevices!

Step 1

My go to cleaner is Murphy Oil Soap.

No, I am not getting paid to say that.

I have used this soap for more years than I can count.

My Mom used to use this to clean her paneled walls in the family room years ago.

If it was good enough for mama, it’s good enough for me.

Step 2

I’m going to start on my kitchen island and then work my way around the kitchen.

I’ll start by filling a bucket with a gallon of warm water and adding in 1/4 cup of oil soap.

Step 3

Next, I’ll scrub down the cabinets using a clean white cloth.

Step 4

For the creases and crevices I use a soft bristle brush or tooth brush dipped in my oil soap.

A little elbow grease goes a long way!

Step 5

Once again I will go back over the cabinet and make sure I didn’t miss any spots.

Be sure to pay attention to the cabinets around the pulls and knobs where grease and dirt build up.

Last, I wipe the cabinets down with a dry cloth.

These cabinets are sparkling clean.

See, I told you that cleaning kitchen cabinets wasn’t rocket science!

paint nicks

One last thing to help my cabinets look brand new – paint.

See these paint nicks?

Tomorrow after my cabinets have had time to dry super well, I will get out my paint and do a little touch up.

This is the perfect time for that since my cabinets are super clean.

  1. That’s my go to cleaner for all the furniture and cabinets in our home. I love how it doesn’t leave a residue or builds up over time when using it. The whole bottle goes a long way. They now have a Murphy Oil Soap Spray cleaner. I love that for quick cleans.
