Every Day Home Tour
Every Wednesday Terrie from Decorate And More With Tip, Corine from Junk To Gems and I all share a video on our Facebook page. The video themes are one of three different categories. Decorating, Organizing, or Crafting. Recently, one of Terrie’s viewers asked if we could do an every day home tour. Since we love listening to our viewers, of course we said yes!
The Entry
When you step inside my door there is a small entry.
It’s not super large, however it functions big.
I keep the decor in here pretty much the same year round with a few exceptions, like Christmas.
I’m not a big fan of wallpaper, mainly because of the removal, but this wallpaper makes me happy!
The Living Room
Walk straight ahead from the entry and you will be in our living room.
This room’s style is a cross between traditional and Granny chic.
I love chinoiserie, old oil paintings, throw pillows, neutral pieces of furniture for the most part and if you add in a tiny bit of whimsy you have my decor style.
But the most important thing about any living room for me?
Not only does it have to be pretty, it has to be comfortable and work for my family!
This room checks all of the boxes.
It’s also the room that I decorate and re-decorate the most.
The Breakfast Room
When downsized and moved into this house two and a half years ago we lost a formal dining room.
I have to admit that there are days that I really miss that room.
But it’s rare.
Because this room is right off of the Living room, the color scheme is in blues also, just in different tones.
The breakfast room is also the second room that will almost always get some holiday or seasonal decorations.
My hutch is one of my favorite pieces I’ve ever owned.
It’s a work horse.
It’s functional, holds a ton of things and looks great!
Just to the left of the breakfast room is our kitchen.
Again, since it’s open to the breakfast room the color scheme is in the blues and whites.
Our kitchen is a working kitchen.
In other words, we cook in it daily.
Yes, I decorate my kitchen countertops – I just don’t go over the top.
I really do believe that you can have function and beauty at the same time.
If I need more room, I simply move the decor until I’m finished with that task.
I hope that you enjoyed this mini every day home tour.
If you want to see the video, you can see it here.
