Memorial Day Outdoor Table

Memorial Day is just around the corner! So today I thought I’d share a quick and easy Memorial Day outdoor table.

While I like to to get a little festive with my outdoor tables, I don’t like to spend a lot of money or time on them.

So I tend to use stuff I already have, although I admit to picking up things here and there throughout the year to add to the decor, dishes etc. that I have.

The Table

As always, I start off cleaning  the table.

Because  #pollen is still around.

Next, I added this table runner that I made from a yard of material I picked up here.

I simply cut it in half, sewed the ends together, and then hemmed three sides.

The Centerpiece

Step 2 is to add a centerpiece.

I used my white wooden lantern from last year.

A terra cotta pot with a red, white and blue ribbon tied to it, has a glittery firework sitting in it.

A candle ring with patriotic colored berries sits beneath the flower pot.

Easy squeezy!

blue lantern

On either side of the centerpiece I added a small blue lantern that I plan on putting a tea light in later.

The Place Setting

Next it was time to add the place settings.

  1. I started with a round red placemat.
  2. Then added a blue star for some color and texture.
  3. A red and white melamine plate sits on top of the placemats.
  4. Followed by a navy and white melamine salad plate.

I’ve had all of these for quite some time.

glass

A Pioneer Woman Water/Iced Tea glass was perfect for Memorial Day.

It reminds me of vintage glassware.

adding flatware to a glass

Each glass was filled with a red and white napkin.

Each napkin has a different red and white pattern.

Once the napkin was added, the glass filled with bamboo flatware and a mini pinwheel for a little whimsy and fun!

Salt and Pepper shakers

The only thing left to add was a salt and pepper shaker set.

And some extra napkins.

What can I say?

We are a little messy here at The Castle.

The Patio

Just in case you thought that I didn’t think of the rest of the patio, a patriotic star was added to the wall as well as another fireworks ball to the the cabinet below.

Memorial Day Decor with Plants

These fun red, white and blue patriotic stars were perfect for the planters at the edge of the pergola. They go perfectly with the red, white and blue flowers in each of the planters!

Memorial day decor on the patio

You can barely see them but buntings were hung at the end of the pergola.

If that doesn’t scream Memorial Day, I don’t know what does.

I think that my Memorial Day Outdoor table is going to be perfect for family dinners ,not only on Memorial Day but on the 4th Of July and other summer celebrations too!

Total time for gathering, decorating and setting the table was about 45 minutes.

Not too bad from start to finish.

I get the privilege of  celebrating in style with the ones I love and I also get to remember those who have fought for a country that I love as well.

Until next time…
