Monkey’s in the Nursery!

Queen Lally’s ( one of my 8 besties –  our families call us The Queens) daughter is having a baby and is due in two weeks.  My BFF Queen Roxanne  and I were asked to paint a mural in her nursery to welcome the new baby.  Of course, we said yes! One of my very favorite things to do is to design and paint murals in nurseries.  I absolutely love it!

Our client had chosen a really cute animal theme in soft browns, beiges, and pink.  Totally boy… even if there was a touch of pink! The walls were painted a pretty sky blue.  The window had bamboo blinds with a beige valance.

We were given a picture of a monkey swinging from a tree and asked to replicate it on left side of the bed and asked to paint the giraffe, that is in the quilt, on the other side of the bed to complete the crib wall.

Our finished crib wall mural…. I loved how it turned out and so did our client!

Of course, we couldn’t just do one wall!   Our client said that her Hubs didn’t have much to say as she was choosing the mural theme – except for one thing.  He wanted an owl painted in the room somewhere.  Well, we gotta make Daddy happy, so after looking at the room we all decided the best place would  be above the changing table.  The changing table was on the wall directly across from the mural wall.  The other adjacent walls were filled with either windows or closet and door.  Plus, by painting across from the mural, even though it was small, this helped to balance out the visual weight of the room.

If you look closely at the crib quilt, you will see this owl.   So cute…love the big eyes.

Now all that’s left is for Mom to add her finishing touches – and the Baby! I must say that it was super fun to paint and I had a blast doing it will my BFF Roxanne!  Thanks to my Bestie!

Until next time…
