My Valentine’s Kitchen
Today I am going to share My Valentine’s Kitchen with you. I KNOW…. it’s still January, but here in blog land, it’s time to share all the Valentine’s Day fabulousness so that you can get wonderful ideas for your own home. I have to admit, I don’t decorate for Valentine’s Day a whole lot. Here at the castle we have all the fall holidays, followed by Christmas and then we run right into the January birthdays. All 9 of them. Yikes! I am worn plumb smooth. I do try and get a little decorating in though.
I always try to use a lot of things that I already have. The only thing new to me this year was the cute X’s and O’s lettering that I found at Michaels. I love how they are thicker at the top than the bottom, creating a slant that makes them easy to read.
I started with a red straw placemat as my base. Before putting my plate down, I placed a vintage napkin down vertically. I inherited these from a great aunt.
For a little fun and variety I used different red checked patterns. Next up – the white plates. Y’all KNOW I love them. They match everything! A red salad plate is our next layer.
I elected to put either an X or an O letter at each plate. You could also use these as place cards using the first letter of each guests name, but since it’s valentines day I love the hugs and kisses!
For my place cards, I am using valentines addressed to my guest. This year I am using some valentines that I have really had for years. They came in my subscription of Mary Engelbreit’s Home Companion magazine. I loved that magazine!
In fact, while I was looking for the valentines I came across my stash of her paper dolls. Each magazine came with a different set of paper dolls. I have hoarded these for years and have finally figured out what I wanted to do with them. I promise to share that with you on a later post!
Of course you know I’m going to have my chalkboard filled with valentine’s art. I can never resist.
Here you have a view of my valentine’s kitchen table. My Valentine’s kitchen may be simple, but I think it’s fun. I don’t really put much out in the rest of the kitchen or house. Just a little touch here and there. Who knows, I may have some crazy inspiration before the special day gets here… Add in some chocolate – a few hugs and kisses and that is the perfect Valentine’s day for me!
Until next time…..
Tammy

Very festive and cheery! Loved that magazine as well and miss its cheerfulness ❤️
Very cute! Great job!!!
Thank you Cindy!
Wow, what a lovely table! I love the pops of red and the vintage-looking touches with the Engelbreight cards. I know you say you don’t decorate much for V-day, but I’d say this is quite sufficient! Thanks for sharing over at Vintage Charm! Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us this Thursday! xoKathleen
