Road Trip part 2

Today is the day that I reveal my road trip part 2! Last time, I shared the first half of my road trip with you however, we had so much fun that it wouldn’t fit into just one post.

Last time I shared with  you a hint of what was to come. It was fish, flowers and elephants.  Believe it or not, I found all of those at a nursery!

My son knows how much I love wandering around in a beautiful nursery! Last year he took me to The Natural Gardener. I loved that place so much that my son has kept an eye out for a new, fun nursery to take me to. Today it was The Great Outdoors.road trip part 2 1

Once we exited the car we were greeted by statuary and signage. There is even a small cafe on site. Since we had just eaten lunch we passed on the cafe and headed on into the garden.

Right as we were entering the main area we saw this huge, ginormous elephant that will become a topiary. I can’t wait to go back and see it when it has matured.

Next to the topiary was the prettiest Koi pond!  I do love ponds…

Not only did this nursery have beautiful flowers, but it had the biggest trees that I have seen since my trip to Savanah! So. darn. pretty!

Isn’t this little guy the cutest? Only he wasn’t so little. He is three feet tall!

Right next to the Koi pond and the cash registers was the second biggest set of wind chimes I have ever seen. The wind was gently  moving them. The chimes tone was so low and beautiful, it made the hair on my arms stand on end. You could feel it!

The nursery was filled with all kinds of beautiful plants, shrubs, trees, and signage. So much so that I got lost in the plants and forgot to take pictures.

If you are ever in the area The Great Outdoors is worth a quick visit. It even has a couple of talking parrots inside the nursery store for you to visit with while you cool off. My favorite part was the Koi pond. I could have sat by it all day, rested a little, read a good book… but, sadly it was time to go home!

Our road trip was short, but filled with all sorts of fun things. The best part was that I got to experience it all with family!

    1. I know how you fee Rita! I spent four days in Oklahoma recently and I am still not caught up. Still, it was a fun day and I look forward to the next one!
