Spring Cleaning Upholstery
Day 2 of Spring clean with us finds us finds us in our living rooms. My friend Terrie from Decorate With Tip And More and I are Spring Cleaning Upholstery.
My furniture is a combo of both cloth and leather.
Today I’m focusing on the upholstery.
Now I’m KNOW I’m going to have people coming for me on this subject, but here goes.
Step 1 is vacuuming the furniture really well with my vacuum.
Vacuum of choice is this Shark – this is where I’m going to drive people over the edge,
I’ve had Hoovers, Dyson, and a whole host of others in all price ranges and they were all equally bad.
This inexpensive little vacuum actually picks up dirt, runs constantly, doesn’t need extra bags and I don’t have to mess with batteries that may or may not go bad in less than six months.
Step 2 is cleaning any dirt or spots.
I start with a white clean cloth and gently scrub a spot using water and vinegar.
IF this doesn’t work I whip out this Hoover clean slate carpet and upholstery cleaner.
Sidenote: This cleaner is not my favorite, but since I rarely use it, I can’t complain too much.
I’ve had this sofa for about 9 years and as you can see using these three things helps keep it clean and pretty!
As you can see, this process works well on my other upholstered furniture as well!
Just in case you were wondering, you can find the navy velvet pillows here.
The blue and white pillows I made with leftover fabric from my drapery.
The pink pom throw blanket can be found here.
The beautiful spring pillow in my blue chair was a gift from friends for my birthday.
I think that it came from HomeGoods.
That’s a wrap for Spring Cleaning Upholstery.
Don’t forget to head on over to Terrie’s to see how she cleans her furniture!

Thanks for sharing the vacuum, I was hoping you would share the link.
It has to feel great knowing your furniture is all clean now, love how you placed all the pretty pillows and throws in your room.
