Trash to Treasure Vanity
I’m not sure if you know it or not, but I started this blog to promote my furniture restore business four years ago. Over time the blog has morphed into more of a life style blog. However, there are still days /weeks where I’m swamped with furniture makeovers. That’s this week. Today I’m sharing a trash to treasure vanity makeover.
A friend texted me asking if I had seen this vanity in the trash down the street. Nope, I had not. So I hopped into the car and went to do a little dumpster diving. This is what I found!
Before I go very far, I want to share what my dining room looks like right now.
I shared with my sisters and they declared it a furniture store.
Part of me cringes when I get this much finished product waiting to be delivered.
The other part of me loves seeing the finished fruits of my labor.
I’m sure I’ll be sharing more of my finished projects with you soon!
Back to the trash to treasure vanity!
It was super dirty, however it had a ton of potential.
It is super sturdy and has the prettiest profile.
I knew that it could look so much better.
To say that this piece required a ton of sanding would be a HUGE understatement!
Once the sanding and prep work was done, I gave this piece a couple of coats of chalk paint.
Followed up by a thorough waxing.
Added some pretty glass drawer pulls to give it a little glam.
One thing that I’ve always loved is the surprise factor of adding color to the inside of drawers.
I added a pretty turquoise paint to the inside and sides of drawers.
I could have stopped there, but I added a fun drawer liner in super fun colors.
It smile every time I open the drawers.
I loved how fun this made the vanity.
So much so that I added the drawer liner paper to the inside of the vanity.
I loved it, it was pretty.
Just not as pretty as the drawers.
So I asked my sisters, should I paint the inside of the vanity the same turquoise of the drawers?
My sisters both came back with a great big YES!
They were so right.
I love how fun this vanity is.
Business on the outside and a great big party on the inside.
This piece is ready for sale!
Until next time…..
