Christmas Home Tour Part 2

Welcome to my Christmas home tour part 2! If you missed part 1, you can see it here. Part one of the home tour was the downstairs common areas, Part 2 is all about the upstairs guest rooms and bathrooms.

If you haven’t figured it out yet, my Christmas decorating is a lot like I decorate my home. A lot of tradition with a little bit of whimsy.

I wasn’t going to decorate the upstairs this year at all, until I found out that my sisters were coming for a visit after Thanksgiving. I tried to give each room a few small touches that would have a lot of my tradition with a tiny bit of whimsy. It seemed like the easiest thing to do was to decorate the rooms with my sister’s personalities in mind.

I gave each sister a choice of which rooms they wanted. Seester T immediately called dibs on the Pink Flamingo room. What? Doesn’t everyone have a pink flamingo room? Sister T is was the middle wild child. So her room needed a little sass!

One of my most favorite pillows and a sassy reindeer in a hot red tutu were the perfect accessories for the bed in the pink flamingo room.

I already had this mini tree and the pink ornaments. It was meant to go into this room!

What pink flamingo room would be complete without a pink flamingo?  Carl the flamingo is even sporting his Santa hat! A few Christmas scented candles, Christmas towels, and a goody basket completed the Pink flaming guest room.

Seester D is the baby of the family. She is a little more classic and a ton more girly than her two older seesters, which is hard to do. The gray, black and white room is the perfect room for her. Serene and peaceful.

Of course, if you give one sister a sassy reindeer, you have to give the other one a reindeer too! This reindeer in her red ruffled dress and mink collar fit the bill perfectly.

The tree in this bedrooms is a pop up tree. It reminds me of a ton of shiny, multicolored sequines!  I LOVE the faux mongolian lambswool tree skirt. So girly.

My black lamp already screams girly, so adding a few colorful ornaments that matched the tree seemed like adding some serious bling to a black dress!

I also added some of the same ornaments to the shower curtain in the adjoining bath. If I had more time I would have changed out the shower curtain rings and added  small matching bows. Maybe next year….

I am a big fan of signs, so I added a sign in each of the seesters bathrooms to remind them to be nice, even though naughty is sometimes a lot more fun!

That wraps up my Christmas home tour for this year. It hasn’t been nearly as elaborate as it has been in past years. At first that bothered me a bit and then I realized that just maybe less really is more. It has certainly allowed me to spend more time focused on the important thing. The reason for the season and family.

Happy Holidays!

  1. Love this room! The colors are fun and fresh. Don’t you love white Christmas trees?

Your black and white bedroom is gorgeous too. You can never go wrong with that combination.

    1. Thank you Stacey. I do love white Christmas trees! I think I would have one as our main tree if I hadn’t purchased a new green one last year….
