I May Have A Pillow Problem

As I was planning my Valentines Day decor, it occurred to me that I may have a pillow problem. To be more specific, a throw pillow problem. I may, or may not be a pillow hoarder!

Don’t believe me? Let me share my pillow issues and let you be the judge!

To be fair, it may be that I have more of a pillow cover issue, than a throw pillow one. A few years ago, it occurred to me that having a few pillow inserts that I could change the covers on would be much more efficient than getting new pillows all of the time.

My realization that I have  too many  a lot of pillow covers occurred to me when I was changing out the throw pillows in the family room.  I have pillows on the sofa. Pillows in the chair.

There are even pillows stashed in the basket that I bought to hold all of our throw blankets.

The master bedroom has it fair share of pillows too. I really struggle with not overloading the beds with pillows.

So when I have too many for the bed, I put them on the chairs instead.

The dining room chairs would look positively naked without pillows.

My Hubs office only has one lone pillow. I feel as if I showed an amazing amount of restraint since the Hubs really isn’t much of a pillow fan.

Do pillow shams count as throw pillows? Even if you have four shams on your bed? I think not. The pink flamingo room only has one throw pillow, so far.

The second guest room is loaded with pillows. I justify this due to the fact that the bed is also much like sofa.

Again, if you don’t have room on the bed for a pillow, put it in a chair!

My office only has one little bitty, tiny pillow.

Not many rooms here at the castle have escaped being decorated with pillows. The media room has 8! If I have counted correctly, there are 27 throw pillows in my house. Yikes!

That is a lot of pillows here at the castle!  I also have a drawer full of pillow covers. Oh! Wait. I also have Christmas pillows in storage…

Not embarrassed at all. Nope, not even a little bit. Well, maybe a little bit.

In all seriousness, changing out the pillows/ pillow covers is one of the easiest ways to decorate a room to reflect new decor and the changing of the seasons and holidays.   It is also very economical. Not one of my pillows or pillow covers has cost me more than $10.00. You have to admit that there are very few decor items for under $10.

Now that I have justified why I may have a pillow problem, I feel much better. So much better that I am ready to go shopping for spring!

Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. I do not think you can have too many pillows. It is such an easy way to add color and change up the room.
My husband dislikes pillows unless it is one he puts under his head. But I usually win when it come to decorating the inside of the house.
Thank you for sharing your pillows.
