New Sign in the Living Room

I have a new sign in the living room! I painted it a long time ago, but just recently took the time to finish it up.

In all honesty, I probably wouldn’t have finished it now if I hadn’t rearranged my living room!

This was my view of a corner of my living room. It is The Hubs corner of the living area, complete with his leather recliner. Someday we will find him something a little smaller and prettier. A girl has her dreams…

My living room is hard to arrange furniture in. Believe me, I’ve tried. It’s a rectangle shape with a corner fireplace and a wall of windows. The furniture has to float.  I have moved furniture only to move it right back to it’s original home more than once. So what’s a girl to do?  I gave it a lot of thought. Then inspiration struck!

What if I flipped the two chairs in my living room? So, I did! And I liked it. Even The Hubs liked it.

I moved the sofa table away from the windows to make room for the recliner. I love it on my stairwell wall! Styling it was even more fun.

I played around with it for awhile, but I still felt like something wasn’t quite right. That’s when I remembered my sign.

I saw a sign months ago with this quote on it, but couldn’t find a place to buy it. So, I made a similar one for myself. Not my best sign, but I am in love with the sentiment! It seemed a little too plain so I asked The Hubs to make a wooden frame for it.

Which he did! I gave it a few coats of Kona colored stain and it was ready for my sign.

Didn’t The Hubs do a fantastic job? It’s perfect on the sofa table. I didn’t even hang it.

That side of the room needed some art, this sign certainly fits the bill!

So far, I’m really loving the new furniture placement in the living room. I still have a few things I want to change or paint. New bar stools. I would love to change the wall color, however The Hubs said – and I quote ” I will be dead or we will move before I paint this living area again!”  It was a bear with 25 foot ceilings, arches over the stairs, etc.

Again, a girl can dream….. for now I’ll just enjoy my new sign in the living room.

Have a great week!
